I'm spending my Junior Year at Oxford University in England, studying Italian Opera and English Literature. I am interested in pursuing a career in stage directing.

This will be my first time participating in CouchSurfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to CouchSurfing, and am interested in surfing over my Christmas break and perhaps hosting when I return to Oxford in early January, 2010.

Interests

I'm interested in opera, theater, dance, music, museums, cooking, traveling and more. I love talking about social dynamics and why people behave the way they do.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Movies include Sunset Boulevard, Brief Encounter, The Wizard of Oz and (more recently) Happy Go Lucky and Wall-E.
Music: Mid-Late Romantic Opera (Strauss, Puccini, Wagner and Tchaikovsky are among my favorites) and classic American Musicals (Especially Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Rodgers and Hart, Stephen Sondheim)
Books: My favorite author is Elizabeth Taylor.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been in lots of plays (which always feel like a miracle when they're happening).
Also, I jumped off a very high cliff into the ocean when I was in France. And I'm afraid of heights!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a good deal about theater and opera, so maybe I could teach you something about that(although I can't give singing lessons!). I'm also a good baker and have taught many people the basics of cookie and brownie making over the years.
I'm always up for learning anything new, although I would especially love to learn new recipes and cooking secrets from around the world.
