To be happily retired. I have written a book about this, but I must admit I am still working on it.
My husband and I are recent retirees, though we both still do some consulting work (Jack in the area of government policy; Linda as a writer, especially content development for online learning.) After raising three children we are interested in doing more traveling. Jack is an avid cyclist and enjoys kayaking. I am more of an indoor-type person. I am interested in computing, reading, learning new stuff. Jack is keen on music, especially Jazz. I am more interested in art. We both enjoy walking and hiking.
I'm still looking for the right answer. I say this because I am keenly interested in other people's ideas about such things as truth, goodness, wisdom, but I find it hard to draw conclusions. That makes me a bit of a dabbler (philosophically speaking), but it also makes me very open to new ideas, and it's those ideas and the process of searching that make my life interesting. I am less interested in conclusions.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well, I am new to couchsurfing so have not participated much. I am looking forward to gaining experience couchsurfing. I hope to write an article about the experience for a local newspaper.
None so far.
Books, bridge, computers, blogging, art anything new and interesting. I am also interested in big ideas -- about the world, life in general. As a transplanted American with family still in the U.S., I am interested in the contrasts between the U.S. and Canada. I follow politics closely.
