ABOUT ME
Joined the navy after a stint at Mass College of Art after deciding that getting out into the world was more appealing then school. While home is a nice place to visit there is too much out there to see and do to be happy in one local. Nine years and more miles at sea then I can count, I find myself married to the most amazing girl I have met and living in Japan, a healthy appreciation of cooking, brewing, and travel.
PHILOSOPHY
"Some bring their family and home with them. Some just bring their horn and their habits, whatever they may be. John Stienbeck talked with the trailer families back in the 50's and they believed the American spirit is one of restlessness and adventure, always seeking a better way, the result of a breed that could not stand to be bound by a structured society or a trapped home. The nomadic life was the ideal. Perhaps out there somewhere was a better place to be whenever dissatisfaction took hold again."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I first heard of this community from a friend of a friend and it struck me as an ambitious idea. I have hosted and stayed at many friends of friends places and as result have met some amazing people along the way along with the knowledge of where ever I go in the states I have people to see and a place to stay.
Though this site I hope to find others who can show me what a great place it is that they live in and eventually come to Japan for a good meal, a bottle of sake, and at very least a place to crash.
