I'd like to expand my social circle locally. And by expand, I mean more than "sitting at a bar making conversation with random passerby".
Recently moved to the Philadelphia area for work, although I'm still a NYC kid at heart. In choosing to do so, I failed to factor in how bored a person can get when they leave their entire social circle behind.
I enjoy the adventure of navigating unfamiliar and contrasting cultures. I've traveled across Asia, and enjoyed it immensely. I'd like to travel more than I do, but (like many of you, I'm sure) am faced with the problem of having the money to travel without the time, or vice versa.
I'm not above exploring locally. Philadelphia has a rich history, and I'm looking forward to diving into my surroundings. Hopefully with some guidance. (I'm told North Philly is to be avoided. And...that's about it.)
I decided years ago, over a beer, and I would live my life such that any decision I make should result in a good bar story.
It's served me well, I think.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I discovered this website some years ago, but never really looked at it. In my current situation, I decided to revisit it and see what it yields.
Surfed just before a hike into and out of the grand canyon, and it was an awesome experience. I'm looking forward to expanding this section of my profile.
Coffee. Lots of Coffee. Keurig will cause my heart to stop eventually, I'm sure.
I hate running. But I do it anyway. You know why? BECAUSE IT FEELS GOOD WHEN YOU STOP.
New York Giants (Yeah, that's right, Philly. And I won't apologize for it, either.)
And, I do like video games.

Music, Movies, and Books
I grew up on ska/punk/oi!, but nowadays can appreciate most anything.
I was a musician, once. I never had the patience to practice, though. And it takes a special kind of talent to succeed without effort - especially in music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I played with a lion once! Yes, I know, pictures or it didn't happen. I've got that covered for anyone who cares to challenge.
