About Me
Note: my profile is old and, for some reason, I never used it! I will start accepting guests grom september because I am currently on an Interrail :)
Hi everyone, my name is Germain and I was born in Colombia but lived in Italy most of my life (I moved in Italy at 2 years old). I have a little bit of both cultures: I eat pasta everyday and listen to salsa (pop latin jazz) music whole day through!
During my studies I've had the possibility to live in other countries (Netherlands and Germany) and I got to know people from all over the world! I am totally fascinated by the food, languages (and dialects, I love dialects!), religions, interactions between people and everything which is different to what I already had the chance to know!
I am a computer scientist but I am not really a fan of technologies: my true love is nature, I love nature!
If you are into hiking, trekking and/or climbing mountains, swimming, diving or just chill in lakes, rivers, seas, ocean or whatever place in which there is water, cyclying or whatever sport thing, count me in! I can give some good suggestions on where to go through Italy and some parts of Colombia for where to go to see some of the wonders of nature.
I love plants and animals, even tho' I don't really know much about them!
My number one passion, which I practice since I am 15 years old, is breakdance (breaking), so if you are into dance, I can teach you some moves!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on couchsurfing because I like to share experiences with people and when I visit new places I think the best thing is to stay with locals (or anyways with people which lives for real in a certain city) since they can have a deeper knowledge about the cities I would visit but they would also have their own and unique background and experiences to share...each one teach one!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love most of south american music (my beloved roots!) and nearly every salsa song. I like to listen to latin jazz, funk, blues, R&B, Reggae, Rap, Rock'n'roll and nearly all the music which is generated with instruments (even tho' I don't dislike some electronic music, but I am not really into it).
Being honest, I didn't read much in my life, but I studied in a foreign languages high school and had the chance to read some of the masterpieces of some languages. I loved L'Étranger [A. Camus] and Les Fleurs du mal [C. Baudelaire] (even tho' currently I am not a big fan of poetry) and my favourite book of all times is Siddhartha (Hesse), which changed some of my perspectives over life when I was entering my teen-ager era.
I've seen many movies, but I don't really have a favourite one since it all depends on the mood of the day.
I had a long period in which I've watched thrillers (like Unknown) and other periods in which I've been into animation movies (I found Olaf from Frozen hilarious)!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I live for 2 years as a busker, hitting the streets and squares of many cities as a breakdancer! :) I rode my bike on a solo travel from Croatia to Bosnia-Herzegovina visiting natural parks...amazing rivers and mountains! 🥰
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook italian dishes for you and teach you some secrets of italian cuisine, I can teach you some dance moves (also how to spin on your head! ;D), I can practice with you one of the languages that I know and I can share my experiences and if you would like we could have some adventures together!
I am living by myself since I a 19 so I am used to clean whatever I use, specially when I am a host :)
