I lived in New York City until I was 19, traveled for a bit, and I am now in Maine working as a massage therapist and doing wild crafts on the side.
I love nature. I'm passionate about natural sustainable living.
I am fascinated by the body-mind-spirit connection. I love helping people feel better and grow through the massage, polarity, and reiki techniques I use in my practice.
I love to learn. I love music and art, particularly in art that tells a story, like graphic novels. I love just to talk to people, I love to joke, and to have adventures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel and I appreciate the directness of being hosted in the home of a real person (or people). I find that most people who use couchsurfing feel like members of my larger "tribe". The generosity of the hosts I have been with has amazed me, and I have had so many great conversations and connections with the hosts I've stayed with.
My biggest interest is people. I'm fascinated to see how people live their everyday lives. I'm really into wilderness and primitive skills.
Otherwise, food, travel, art, music, culture, video games, nature, graphic novels/comics, biking, homesteading, artisan and traditional skills interest me.
Music, Movies, and Books
Books: miscellaneous books pertaining to my interests that I do not care to list at the moment
I'm not really into movies
Music: Hiatus Coyote, Beanfield, Hozier, Radiohead, Burial, Long Arm, Little Dragon, Sonic Youth, Matthew Herbert, Unkle, Gorillaz, Baby Mammoth, Psapp, Broken Social Scene, Regina Spektor, Soul Coughing, etc
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived for almost a year in the wildernessin northern Wisconsin, with no electricity, no pots and pans, no processed foods... basically nothing the wilderness doesn't give. I had uncountable amazing experiences during that time.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm down for teaching anyone anything I know about primitive skills, wilderness, drawing, painting, anatomy and physiology, massage therapy, energy work, computer and photoshop, cooking and baking, singing, and anything else I know. I am glad to chat about an issue you might be having (like chronic back pain, or tension headaches) and make some recommendations about how to care for that issue.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My knowledge about health and wellness, muscles and how they work, and self care techniques.
I can cook and I love to share food.
I can teach you about basketmaking, very basic net weaving, hide tanning, DIY butchery, making fire by friction, etc.
I can offer some Reiki and energy work.
