CURRENT MISSION

I have a couple interviews coming up in St. Petersburg next week, the only person I know there is my ex-girlfriend. I fell in love with the area and don't want to give up on the possibility of living there.

ABOUT ME

I am just a guy living life as best as I can. Most of my adult life has been spent working for tech companies (yes, I'm a geek) during the day and spinning records at night as a DJ (yes, I'm a walking contradiction). :)

I recently survived cancer which has put a whole new perspective on life for me, a common scenario I think. Basically, what I want now is to live in a tropical climate, find steady work (rather than consulting and DJing) and find good people to surround myself with.

A little adventure now and then is certainly called for, but really... just looking for a little easy for awhile, ya know?

Most of my couch surfing related experiences have included heading back to Seattle after a failed attempt to leave (for one reason or another)

I once sold everything I owned and bought the cheapest plane ticket I could find to Europe with no intention of coming back. Yes I did have some kind of plan to accomplish that. Unfortunately, 2 days in I was struck by a car halfway between Amsterdam and Utretch in the middle of the night and was forced to return to the states to recover. It's actually a damn good story from beginning to end, but rather lengthy.

When somebody says, "Don't move here because of me" when thinking about moving across the country (or the world) the relationship is doomed, if even you're not moving there solely to be with that person. Not trying to be a downer, but I have now officially been on both sides of that statement and it's more than true.
