About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To really experence the culture of the places I visit.

ABOUT ME

I am an easy going Australian who has been living and teaching in South Korea for the past two years. Last year I met my Soul mate and we got married in September 2013. We are currently planning at trip around Europe and heard wonderful things about couch surfer from a friend. So we decided to join and try and host a few people to get a feel for it.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is simple in nature. Basically it runs along similar lines as karma. You do good things, good things happen. If you say yes to new things and try new things, your interests will grow. if you are a positive person, the world around you will be positive. No situation is ever all bad and the most important thing is to try and make something good come of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couch surfing experience goes back to when I first lived overseas in Denmark as an exchange student. A group of us became very good friends with a Brazilian diplomat who had an awesome apartment in the middle of Copenhagen. He would let us stay there, whenever we went out in Copenhagen. In return we would cook for him occasionally and clean his apartment. He often had 5 to 12 people staying in his two bedroom apartment. People just found a spot to sleep where ever they could on the couches and the floor. it was during this time that I discovered the most important thing about traveling is not how comfortable your bed is, or the view from your window, it is the people you meet and build a friendship that make traveling beautiful.

Since then I have made an effort to make my priority when traveling to be people and building my understanding of various cultures.

Interests

I have a wide range of interests:

Travel, photography, art(looking at more then making it), dancing, sport.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite book: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho would have to be my favorite book as it is one of the few books I have read more then once.

Music: this is too difficult, I change my taste in music as often as I change my undies. One day I will totally be into my 90s hip hop, the next I will be bopping along to K-pop or my Aussie rock anthems.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy learning from and people who are passionate about what they are talking about or showing.
