Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learning about people from various backgrounds and, through such fascinating learning experiences, about myself.
ABOUT ME
Grew up the first half of my life in Osaka and the other half in Vancouver, pretty much. I studied International Relations and almost a negligible amount of environmental science in Vancouver, Canada. Following a short-term internship in Cambodia, I'm now pursuing a master's degree in International Relations in Canberra, Australia. My interest is in food security and, I guess naturally, Sino-Japanese security relations. And these days, I find myself often wondering what exactly I live for (in a very positive sense!)
Love food and drinks. Love solo and pair/small group travels.
Not a club party dude, but a home party fan.
PHILOSOPHY
Life seems to be full of contradictions and complexities, but in the end they are part of one simple concept called 'fun', only if you succeed in perceiving that way, that is...which is a very difficult task!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can host somebody in Canberra, but, as it is often called "Canboring," I guess not many folks would want to travel here. But if you do make it here, let's have some coffee/drinks and I will be more than happy to give you a short tour of this tiny capital of a gigantic country. I can certainly host people too, but my place is a bit too cold in winter. I will sometimes be in Osaka as well, so please do hit me up if you go there!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
First time (East and Central Europe, July 2013)
Second time (Caribbean, July 2014)
Third time (Western Australia, NOW)
Interests
LOVE food and drinks, especially red wines - I'm very keen on learning about Australian wines. Playing sports (Classical Jujutsu, basketball, golf, and baseball), reading books, and, oh yes, watching anime.
And of course, I love meeting cool people and discussing with my friends about whatever is happening around the world!

Music, Movies, and Books
I guess this is where my otaku (hardcore Japanese animation fans) part comes out...haha. Love anime songs and soundtracks, movies, and manga (Japanese comic books). But, of course, I do listen, watch and read other types of music, movies and books.
In general, I find myself more familiar with Japanese subculture than the Western one, which is quite strange since I spent my entire teenage life in Canada.
