PHILOSOPHY

A friend recently shared a quote with me from a Hafiz poem -- “One regret dear world, that I am determined not to have when I am lying on my deathbed is that I did not kiss you enough.”

I think about this quote, and I try to "kiss the world" every day. I want to enjoy the world around me -- through travel, keeping my eyes and heart open, loving my friends and family -- and I try to contribute to the world in a positive way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to have fun adventures while I travel, and that most definitely also means meeting great people along the way. I'm new to CS, but my aim is to not only find a place to stay -- while couch surfing, I hope to get to know the people I stay with, even if just briefly, and I want to give back (by cooking, for example, and keeping my space tidy, or trading drawing lessons...). I also don't want to get in anyones way, and I respect and appreciate the things hosts may do that prevent them from hanging out (no need for a CS babysitter, though if a host would want to hike or chat that's welcome too).

I have not yet hosted either (new to this community), but I hope for the same things as what I look for as a surfer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Recently joined and had an awesome experience with CS-ers in Kauai. Now want to pay it forward and stay involved with the CS community!

Interests

I'm an artist, educator and explorer. I am also love cooking and meditating through yoga. Would love to learn how to do letter-press one day, but in the meantime, I'll observe and enjoy!
