After severe backpain which made me end up in hospital I started yoga. My hobby became my profession and it was best that happened to me after 20 years corporate life (investment banking and later public relations). In the meantime I am teaching since 2010 and keep learning from teachers and students (who are great teachers to grow).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Always was lucky to find a place to stay. Either cheap hotels, rooms via airbnb or friends. Until one day when there was nothing available at all (except expensive rooms and hotels) .. and a friend of mine said: Why don't you try couchsurfing?
Not used it a lot yet but a wonderful experience though. Was blessed and lucky with my hosts!

Interests

Interested in everything, especially sharing experiences about other countries and cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Put me in front of a book store or library and see.......... you will have a hard time to get me out of there.
Most books I read are connected to yoga. Learning more about yoga philosophy and getting inspired through others.

I am not so much into Action movies with no good story and massive special effects, gunfire, killing and craziness and "coolness" factor. More I love movies which make me think or leave something open to talk about. Of course I also love to watch funny movies. I really enjoy going to the cinema because I do not have a TV at home (and mostly not when travelling).

In music I am quite open. As a born Viennese of course I love classical music ;) Much of the time I enjoy the silence - there is sound enough surrounding us.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gave up everything in Vienna to live and teach in Istanbul with a lot of promises .. and had to start all over newly from scratch as non of those were held. But this time changed my life completely. I don't want to miss a single minute although it was tough for me. Still there was something that kept me going and there was as well the right time when it was enough, time to leave after almost three years which was end of December 2014.
When I look at politics today it makes me sad to see my friends suffering from it and feel that what we together were "fighting" for, e.g. in Gezi park protests (for freedom and democracy), is getting torn down and even more ..
