About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Figure out what to be when I grow up.
ABOUT ME
We are a couple of old time lesbian feminists.
I have been with my partner Cindy for 25 years. We are 57 & 66 but our friends are all ages and genders. We have both been active politically for feminism and peace for 30+ years.
I worked in the beginning of the anti-violence against women movement in Australia and California starting battered women's shelters and rape crisis centers.
After moving to Colorado in the early 80s I worked in non-profit administration, university administration, and non-traditional businesses before retiring last year.
Cindy is well known in the fiber world as the Spinning Wheel Goddess. She runs a factory which produces weaving looms and spinning wheels. She also is an artist who can do anything she finds intriguing.
We both work with Basset Hound Rescue and Cindy has a foster horse. She is also active with the handweaving and spinning community and WARP, a fair trade organizat ion concentrating on fiber arts.
Our babies are two basset hounds , Tigger and Ginger. Two cats complete the household.
Our next project is rehabbing an old Airstream RV/bus for trips and as guest quarters.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We want to surf and offer our couch. We have hosted travelers from Italy (circus performer), Ireland (woman who rode horseback from Buenos Aires to NYC, New Jersey (training to lead wilderness trek in Chile),So.Dakota( returing to Italy after family reunion),and New York (Poetry student who forgot to mention cat allergy and snuck away in the night).
Boulder has a lot of short term educational opportunities and workshops. Most of our surfers seem to have come to attend those.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Nothing formal but have stayed with friends of friends in Australia, Hong Kong, London, Japan, Brussels, Amsterdam,San Francisco, Cape Cod, and Paris...have offered space to same in our home.
My favorite experience: In Japan, I met a lesbian couple traveling west as I was traveling east. A month later, I arrived in Paris on the same day they did and was invited to stay with them in a another friend's classic rooftop flat at the Place de Republique.
The bath was shared with other flats off a curving staircase, and there was a lovely rooftop patio.
The building concierge lived in a 10'X 10' gatehouse with 20 cats that barked. I never saw her or the cats, as they never left the gatehouse.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Scuba Diving on the Cayman Trench and feeling that I could fly.
Standing on top of a live volcano in Japan, looking into the crater at the bubbling lava and wondering what the hell I was doing there as I noticed the lava shelters dotted around the rim of the crater.
