Music, Movies, and Books

Classical, rock 'n' roll, Broadway show tunes, and jazz music. Historical movies, books, and a few TV shows. I'm an infomaniac and listen to the news and other informational programs through various sources every day!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sorry, I'm too old to limit it to one thing.

Living in France during my junior in college in 1976.

Marrying the love of my life, Larry Fox, in 1982 and giving birth to our beautiful son, Alan, in 1984.

Traveling to China with fellow educators in 2010.

Seeing my son perform on the guitar and bass in his own bands, playing music they created!

Taking care of my parents' financial and medical needs until they passed away in 2013 and 2014. They developed dementia but never forgot who I was.

Retired in 2018 from the San Diego County Office of Education. Spent 8 months as a resident immersion consultant in Japan. Taught at San Diego State University as an adjunct professor 2020-2022. Now working part-time as an education policy analyst for the California Association for Bilingual Education (2022 to present).

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a certified trainer for Project GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) and for Advanced SDAIE (Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English now known as "integrated English language development"). I have co-authored curriculum related to language acquisition and approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and the California Dept of Ed.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A helping hand and/or a listening ear, cooking, teaching ideas, laughter.
