To leave "home" for 1.5 continuous years!
I'm a calm and easy going french canadian with many passions. My interests are broad and I love learning! I have done two years of cegep in ornamental horticulture, I'm taking a pause before my last year. I left Montreal for a tree planting job in Falkland, which is not exactly going well. Unexpected events mean I have to adapt my course. I want to visit Vancouver and maybe find a job and settle down for the summer.
A great friend of mine taught me "Ose, mais ne désire rien." which means "Dare, but do not desire."
When an opportunity presents itself, dare take it. Whether this opportunity will work or not is unimportant. What is important is that you had dared to try, rather than letting it slip away.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
This is my first time on CS.
I have none yet.
I'm passionate about horticulture, I love gardening and being outdoors. I'm very interested in photography and visual arts. I know Photoshop and am starting to learn video editing (Adobe Premiere/After Effects). I love watching documentaries, I always have plenty on my hard drive to share!
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite movie is "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulin", I love Amelie's child-like sens of wonder and amazement. Joy from simple things should never be left behind.
I like Bollywood movies, Madhuri is the best! I have varied tastes, but I don't like horror movies.
My musical tastes are varied and tend more to the mellow side.
I feel like I should read more books, but here are two I have enjoyed: Amusing Ourselves to Death and A Sand County Almanac.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
So many things have amazed me, among them is the Costa Rican rain forest!
Teach, Learn, Share
What I know best is horticulture; anything plant related I could help out with. Whether it be some help and ideas in the garden or alleviating the pain of Chronic Houseplant Death Syndrome. CHDS is a treatable condition which requires a little maintenance.
I am always willing to learn new things, there is always so much to be learnt!
