When I was hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail I ended up in the middle of a chase down between a black bear and a huge buck ... they were running straight at me on the trail and I just stood there and screamed as loud as a could. The buck ran off to my left so close I could reach out and touch it and the bear skidded to a halt right in front of me and ran off to my left. Soon after everyone called me by the trail name Scare-Bear.
