About Me

ABOUT ME

I've played the piano since I can remember and it's been a faithful friend over the years, taking me all over the world and enabling me to meet some wonderful people. People sometimes ask me where I feel at home and I think the answer is simply "wherever I know nice people". Of course location is important too, and Berlin has been a wonderful base for the past six years. In September I move back to London, but intend to still spend as much time as possible in Berlin. I lived in Vienna as a student for four years and whenever I go back to visit friends there, it's as if I just saw them the previous week. I think our perception of time is a mysterious thing. I prefer to think of having a number of parallel lives, which can be paused or resumed depending on where we happen to be. That way you never really have to say goodbye.

PHILOSOPHY

Go through all the processes of conscious thought, training, discipline - but in the end just listen to your heart.

Interests

Music can't really be classed as an interest - it's my life. I love to do a bit of magic, though I'm not very good. I started a yoga class with my lovely neighbour Dorota recently. I am not naturally bendy, but sometimes I have the feeling I may just be getting a little bit better. I like the relaxation bit at the end best - "letting go of the day", as Dorotka puts it. Often a very necessary thing to do... I love paintings - I have a large digital collection and it's always exciting when I'm able to see them in the flesh, so to speak. My flat-mate Anke sometimes forces me out of bed early in the morning to go swimming with her. Getting of bed seems like the end of the world, but once in the water I am so happy I did it!
