I live in Vienna and work with bats - large and small, as well as reptiles and amphibians from South East Asia. I like to travel, read, go to concerts, eat good food (and junk food), and drink.
I've danced (ballet) for 18 years....that doesn't mean I'm any good, though.
In winter I attempt to snowboard, it usually never works out; in summer I like to broil myself under the sun with some good beer, at the Danube river here in Vienna.
I love art and photography, and at one point in my life I thought I would have a much more art-centric career, turns out I'm not super great at it afterall, haha.

Overall I'm pretty okay, maybe even above-average. I don't know, let me stay on your couch and we'll see.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because sometimes hostels aren't available, so I have to burden others with my presence. :)
No but really, I love meeting new people and this is a really cool way to do it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a big variety of music. Favourite bands include Radiohead, Gorillaz, Interpol, SOHN, Beach House, Beck, Arctic Monkeys, Massive Attack, Other Lives... yeah I could go on for ages. I love music.

I like psychological thrillers and films with good cinematography and design. Alfred Hitchcock and Wes Anderson are two of my favourite directors. I like the stereotypical cult classics (Memento, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, etc.). I love the Paradies trilogy by Austrian director Ulrich Seidl.

I read a lot of non-fiction. I like The Heretics (Will Storr), The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat (Oliver Sacks), Being Mortal (Atul Gawande), The Edge of Evolution (Behe)...
I love the classics as well - Dune, 1984, Brave New World, Lord of the Flies...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, and gone scuba diving with giant manta rays. Those were pretty cool experiences.
