Hey! I'm Samantha, and I am a happy, friendly, fun and super energetic and very smiley girl on a backpacking journey around the globe! For me, home has always been the West coast of Australia in one of the most isolated (and beautiful) cities in the world, Perth! If you drive 30 minutes from my house you can see lots of wild kangaroos and falcons! I have also seen wild quokkas, echidnas, wombats, platypuses, lizards, stingrays, koalas, sharks, possums, camels and venomous snakes around Australia! As much as I love home, a part of me has never settled staying in one place, I have a great urge to meet beautiful people, have interesting conversations, live in different locations, see incredible sights and experience everything this wonderful world has to offer.

So a little bit about me .... My dad is Italian and my mum is Australian and I have a 20 year old brother. I love meeting people, camping, snorkelling, hiking, drawing, museums, watching shooting stars in the middle of nowhere, boardgames pilates, teaching little kids, reading, cooking up a big feast and eating (I'm convinced Nonna's constant feeding of several courses over the years has stretched my stomach to expand to fit in maximum amount of food)! Two of my favourite things to do with my friends is finding a little spot on the beach to have a picnic in between swims and late night chats about everything at 1am. And this past year I have been learning to surf! I have really curly hair which weirdly looks like two minute noodles when wet. And finally I love solo travel because of the opportunities to meet new people and the freedom it brings!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to create lifelong friendships with interesting, fun and beautiful people from all around the world! I would also love to see how you live and maybe even pick up a few new words in different languages, try new foods and ask for your recommendations on things to do where you live. My friend just came home from a couple of years travelling and she told me that couch surfing is the best way to meet people and form friendships, so here I am ready to give it a go!
