ABOUT ME

My best friend would say I am a genuine person who appreciates life's little blessings. I love learning about different cultures and want to travel the world to do so... AFTER I raise the little girl growing in me right now. I'm an old soul and believe in things like respect, discipline, honor and honesty (which is hard to find in a 21 year old!). My husband and I are both trained chefs, he in culinary arts, myself in patisserie. We have 2 cats (Cheddar and Cheese) and a hummingbird outside our window.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is full of little blessings which most people tend to overlook or forget about. My philosophy? Learn as much about other cultures and beliefs, remember to stop and smell the daisies (there are never roses on the side of the road!) and never forget who I am or where I came from.

Interesses

Things that grab my attention are anything cultural, travelling, meeting new people, journalism, the theatre, spending time with family, scrapbooking, and anything crafty! Oh, I can't forget baking.

Comedies that make me laugh so hard I can't stop crying, music that warms my soul and lets me tap along, and a good book that engages me so well I can't put it down!

Moments that left me awestruck:

1) Witnessing a child taking off their coat to give to an elderly homeless woman at the airport in Charlotte, NC (then watching the mother of the child curse her out for doing so when they were climbing into their car)

2) Understanding, for the first time, what a desert is as my grandma and I rode through Death Valley in a crowded Greyhound bus headed to Ohio.

3) Falling off the hospital bed in the ER when the doctor told me I was pregnant!
