ABOUT ME
The most common adjectives from my friends include smart, funny, kind. I hope they're right.
PHILOSOPHY
I like how Neil deGrasse Tyson said, "For me, I'm driven by two main philosophies: know more today about the world than I knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others. You'd be surprised how far that gets you."

Music, Movies, and Books
George Watsky and Regina Spektor are my current favorite musical artists. I LOVE books. Some of my favorites: Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking. The Hunger Games, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Redwall are some of my classic favorite stories.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once traveled to a small community called Simahjuleu, Guatemala for a project with Engineers Without Borders. Sitting in the back end of a pickup, the views from the precarious dirt mountain roads were astonishing, and the the steepness of cornfields humbling.
Stars on a clear, northern night are one of my favorite sights.
One of my favorite summertime memories was spending a day kayaking down the Root River in SW MN and stopping halfway through the trip to climb ashore and swing off one of those classic rope swings into the river. It was a perfect day.
