About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to learn through exploration

ABOUT ME

My friends would say that I am kind and courteous with an open mind and sense of adventure. I am a citizen of the world and enjoy connecting with people from different walks of life and listening to their stories. I feel privileged to be able to cross oceans and experience foreign cities and cultures. It is therefore important to me to share with others when I travel, whether that be a story, a dance, or delicious food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Fairly new to the community. I try to offer outing suggestions but hope to start hosting soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did not use the site during my last trip in Alaska. Though, my friend and I met a random person at a bar that ended up being an excellent host for four of the days that we were there. We really connected with him and became friends. We stayed on a couch, in a yurt, in an isolated cabin, and in a tent. And had an amazing experience enjoying the natural beauty that is Alaska.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am amazed at the generosity and hospitality of people. Traveling has given me faith in the goodness of the world and with every adventure I am inspired. My most memorable experience was hitch hiking in Ghana with my friend and an elderly man named Peter. During the ride, we talked about our trip, about U.S. American, Mexican, Salvadoran and Ghanaian culture, and family among many other things. Peter told us that he liked the way we lived: that we were constantly moving. And that in moving we were encountering such different and beautiful things. He said that we should continue to move with kindness in our hearts and that we would be blessed in return. And we were truly blessed :)
