About Me

Seeking the unique and unusual

I am originally from Colorado but am moving to Boston in June for a research position before med school. I went to college in New England, so it will nice to be back in the area. I have a passion for traveling, and I've been to 25 countries and lived in South America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the Pacific - have some great stories to tell about these places. I also love meeting new people, getting together with friends, and enjoying exploring the city. I'm also an avid reader and love following the news.

Love all, respect all

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I've surfed before and was able to go to some potlucks and other get-togethers for CouchSurfers in Washington, DC. I haven't been able to host yet, but I hope to when I get my own place in Boston.

I surfed in Charleston and had the best time - the couple were stayed with were so incredibly warm and hospitable, and made us feel right at home. Meeting people at CouchSurfing potlucks was also wonderful - fascinating people from all over the world!

Reading, current events biking/hiking, meeting new people, pets/animals, the beach, nice weather, and (of course) traveling

Music, Movies & Books

Movies - I love documentaries. Encounters at the End of the World (Werner Herzog) is one of my favorites. Waitress, The Shawshank Redemption, and Good Will Hunting are also favorites
Books - Catch-22 is probably my favorite piece of fiction. I really love non-fiction, especially when it is about unusual cultures/places/people.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

In the Marshall Islands, I was living on Majuro (very urban) but got to spend a few days in Arno, an "outer atoll". It was my idea of a tropical paradise - no roads, a beautiful, empty beach bordered by palm trees, and incredibly nice people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the Indonesian language! It's pretty easy and fun.
