About Me

Hello! I'm an enthusiastic girl who's open to trying new things, reaching new heights, and just doing what makes me and other people happy!
I love, love, love Star Wars- especially the old films-, playing lacrosse (though I am seriously rubbish at it), reading books (I do love a variety of genres but I'd say contemporary would be my favourite because of the beautiful prose I come across), eating food, cats, biology, philosophy and laughing!
Some of my hobbies include the following: watercolour painting, charcoal drawing (though I am rubbish at that too), and a bit of writing here and there. I love running, talking, making people laugh, and cycling. There's just so much to love about life, eh?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I tend to go to places 'round the world and come back with less than I should because I immerse myself in the places itself but I never get to know the people who live there or make new friends. Couch surfing makes travelling seem a lot less lonely! I strongly feel that the people are as much the place as the buildings or the nature that are situated there if not more.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I have a general love for a lot of indie folk music. I love artists like Lord Huron or Ben Howard. However, I also have a thing for whatever else sounds good to me which could literally be anything for the classics like the Beatles or modern pop like Taylor Swift and Niall Horan. I also like a lot of country music, Hunter Hayes in particular is pretty good.

Movies: Must I say, STAR WARS. I will speak mostly for the old stuff when I say Star Wars is just pure perfection. I like cozy family movies like Home Alone. I like sci-fi or adventure movies. Journey to the Center of the Earth was good in that respect. I also do like documentaries dealing with history, can't say how many I've watched on Alexander the Great.

Books: I can't begin to paraphrase all the love I have for so many different books. Once upon a time, I would have said Looking For Alaska by John Green was my all time favourite book but I must say I've read too many more precious books to say the same now. Some notable ones would be All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, More Than This by Patrick Ness, the Slated series by Terri Terry, Fire From Heaven by Mary Renault, the Gone series by Micheal Grant, Alexander the Great: Lessons From History's Undefeated General, When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi, and Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This section just saddens me, I truly haven't done anything exotic or out of the blue. Nothing spectacular. I made pizza a few times from scratch. It wasn't like beautiful store-made pizza or something but it had all the defining characteristics of pizza: cheese, crust, and sauce....

Teach, Learn, Share

Yes I am Canadian, but no I cannot skate and I suck at hockey so I can't really teach anyone that stuff. I am good with biology, neuroscience in particular, s if you ever want to ask how your memory works or your vision or the circadian rhythm or neurotransmission, feel free to ask and I'll answer to the best of my abilities! I am also good with Bengali, I'll teach you a few phrases if you'd like.

I would love to learn anything really from the local language to how to play a sport or anything that is special to you that you'd like to share! I am trying to build my German so there's that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share the food I buy or the book I'm currently reading!
