Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Right now I'm on a long backpacking trip cross-country, starting from my hometown in AR, moving down to Austin, TX, then west to CA, then up the pacific coast to WA and finally Lincoln NE before circling back down to home. I've mostly been camping around, which is what I planned on doing the whole way, but it gets tiresome lugging around a 75+ lb. alice pack and trying to set up camp before dusk every night.

Música, películas y libros

My favorite book may be the Life of Pi, by Yann Martel. I also really like Anthem, by Ayn Rand. Music: I like 90's stuff, for instance east coast hip-hop groups like Digable Planets, A Tribe Called Quest, Gang Starr, Nas, etc.; shoe gaze such as My Bloody Valentine, Lush, Galaxie 500, of course Cocteau Twins and Ride; then rock- the Pixies, R.E.M. and the like. Moving on to movies, I like David Byrne's 'True Stories', there's a Norwegian (i believe) movie called 'Kitchen Stories' which I really love, 'Dead Man' is a huge classic in my book; various genres, but not horror, or racial comedies. And I sincerely hope that the rumors for the new 'Space Jam' with Labron James is a hoax. remakes make me want to gag.

I'm trying to learn as much as i can about survivalist techniques, since I'm doing so much hiking and camping on this trip. I want to eventually be able to hunt, trap, fish and forage efficiently. Living off of any given land is a lifelong dream of mine. As far as things I could teach, I'm a jack-of-all-trades rather than a master of any one skill. I play a little guitar, I cook pretty well, I do construction on the side... uh i know a couple of card games. haha

I like to pick up after myself and help out wherever I can. I'm really good with my hands, from basic handyman stuff to some electronics. I've mentioned I can cook, clean, play music, fix things, analyze things; I've got an eye for minute details. I mean whatever you might need help with you can ask, I may be able to help.
