About Me

Hello! I'm Sam!

BACKGROUND:
I was born in New York, lived in South Korea from ages 3-6, then moved to Connecticut and spent the bulk of my childhood growing up there with my parents and older brother.

EDUCATION:
I studied neuroscience at Duke University in North Carolina for 4 years, and will spend the next 4 years pursuing a career in dentistry at the University of Connecticut starting in August of this year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend of mine recently introduced me to couchsurfing, and I became fascinated with the idea of it and decided to try it out myself! But also because I love the thrill of adventure and the lack of a price tag. Help me help you..? :)

PHILOSOPHY

"Try not to become a man of success but rather to become a man of value." - Albert Einstein

Always be open to new opportunities. You never know what doors will open for you. Also, be positive. Whether you are positive or negative, whatever meant to happen will happen, so why stress?

Interests

MUSIC:
I can play a variety of instruments, including guitar, bass, percussion/drums, piano, and am always trying to learn new instruments and new ways to express my art through music. I also record and produce music during my free time. You can have a listen to some of my work on my soundcloud page! Shoot me a message if you enjoyed it :) would love to hear feedback.

SPORTS:
I enjoy playing and watching all sports, particularly basketball (NBA & NCAA), golf, futbol tennis, ping pong, pool, bowling, and fencing. I have 8 years of experience fencing in national competitions and in university.
