I may be a bit reserved at first but I am friendly, well mannered, honest, and have a keen sense of adventure at heart. I've always enjoyed traveling, especially as a food lover and history enthusiast. I am a full time student, part time worker aspiring to become an english or history teacher. I recently turned 21 so I of course enjoy having a good time as well as learning while traveling! My other interests are writing, movies, sports, music, hiking, and eating!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am planning a cross country road trip this summer 2017 to visit family scattered around the United States, namely my grandfather who is in his late 80's in South Carolina. Since I am a full time student and only work part time, I was hoping to use Couchsurfing as a means to cut travel costs down since my funds are and likely will be limited at the time of travel. In addition to visiting my grandpa, I believe this trip will be a great opportunity to explore the different cultures and histories of the United States by region or state, and couch surfing will allow me to meet new connections in the places I have no family.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy nearly all genres of music. Most of my current music library consists of hip-hop and alternative rock, with various other small genres or singles. However, I have taken a newfound interest in Country music which seems to be the fastest growing genre in my arsenal! I enjoy many movies including 8 Mile, Boyhood, Crash, Saving Private Ryan, and Super Troopers to name a few. As far as books go I am not as diligent of a reader as I should be, especially as somebody who writes, but I am currently reading the Game of Thrones books (I'm on book 2). As far as my favorites go it would be hard to decide as many of my recollections of books I've read are fuzzy at best. I enjoyed the Great Gatsby, the Giver, and the Harry Potter series to list three.
