About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Scratch my itchy feet and give back to the world. Try and have fun doing it

ABOUT ME

Brought up as an only child in London and although raised Christian, am atheist now. Well, i have my own belief system but that's more of an in person thing. Over the last 18 months, i have realised work is no longer making me happy and as such i have retrained to be an English language teacher and decided to do what i love, travel. For the foreseeable future.
I am a sociable person and like to be around people though i have learnt to be comfortable on my own. I take the piss but then expect it in return, no harm done.
I like go be occupied but also instinctively like to relax and take my time a lot as well. Not always conducive to being productive. Probably the reason why i never stick it out at the gym.
I have itchy feet and few belongings and i want to give back to the world in whatever way i can. I love meeting new people along the way and finding out where they are going. Maybe even getting a clue where i should be going as well.

PHILOSOPHY

The more afraid you are, the more reason to do it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I generally jump in head first and say yes to nearly anything. Whether hosting or surfing i cook to say thank you for the sofa or the experience. Top quality English banter and a smile as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed all around London and Paris since i was 21 but only in the last year or two have begun to do it further afield with people i have met through friends. Was quite daunting at first but i love it now. Strangely enough, some of the best experiences i have had have been when i was sleepin in my hammock in a back garden.

Interests

Although i cook for a living, it is still one of my great passions. I love to make meals for family and friends. Big sharing plates and food to fill the belly and make the soul sing. Suitably lubricated with plenty of booze of course. Chocolate and desserts as well. I have a rather sweet tooth to the detriment of my pocket.
Probably the biggest driving force in my life though is travelling and exploring. I want to learn, see and experience as much i can. From the monasteries of Bhutan to The Day Of The Dead in Mexico, i want to see it all and know i have lived.
Tattoos play a big part in my life now as well. I definitely have the bug as if i'm not waiting to get one i am mulling over my next.
Sport in general. I skateboarded for just under a decade so it contributed to who i am today massively and to this day i still enjoy going skating once in a while or watching it. If i have the time (and finances) surfing and snowboarding are definitely up there with some of the best things in life. Anything outside where you challenge the world around you i suppose grabs me.
On the other hand, i can happily watch rugby and cricket all day long. Club level and national level, it doesn't matter.
I like to read a lot as well though quite sporadically. I can go weeks without reading then proceed to go through five books in a month. No specific genres either though recently it seems to have been magical realism and fantasy (although the last book i read was The Football Factory...).
Lastly, though probably not an interest, i like to meditate a lot.

Obsessed with lucid dreaming and neruoplastocoty right now June 2015
