My name is Sander and im 26 years old.
I'm currently traveling around in Thailand and heading to Japan next!!! Can’t wait!!

Back at home I tried several studies, but I realized it might not be for me. I’m a practical guy. That’s why in the past few years I have just being doing things that I love doing!

I got my diving certificate, became a wedding officiant for my city and I even got my skydiving certificate. Besides that I have just been traveling. Why? Because all these things are things that I wanted to do.

Now the next thing I want is to connect with people from different cultures. And maybe learn a lot more about certain subjects. I would love to know everything! So please tell me your stories, share you knowledge and let’s have fun!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am planning on traveling in Japan and I have noticed that the hostel prices are kind of expensive. Which is fine by me but I wanna travel for as long as I can. Maybe 1,5 month, so I need to try and save my budget somehow.

This seemed like a great option. First of all because I love Japan and I love the culture so staying with a local would definitely teach me more than staying in a hostel with other foreigners.

Second of all, I think it’s a great way to make new friends and broaden perspectives.

And well yeah third of all is probably the budget.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music! I can appreciate good classical music every now and then but can also appreciate some speed metal (dragon force) or honestly just any pop song. I like it all.

Movie wise I am easy to please. Once I start a movie I’ll sit it through. I might not like it but there’s always something fun going on if the movie is terribly directed.

Reading is something I would like to spend some more time on. Lately I have only been reading some mangas and that’s about it, but would love to sit down and take the time to read some more.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to study to become a teacher and loved it!! I love to tell people about the world, things that they haven’t heard of. Broaden perspectives. I love to teach people about the things I do and the things I like. Experiences I have had in my life.

I also love to learn. I don’t like the forced learning that we had in high school, but learning about things that interest me I just love that.

So share all the knowledge you have and I’ll share the tiny bits I have.

I can share my knowledge. I could help you learn some Dutch if you are interested in exchange for some Japanese. Because Japanese is definitely a language I would still love to learn.
