ABOUT ME

Newly 60 years old, enjoying good health, I am an artist, working mostly with paint and dabbling in the digital age. I teach painting and drawing and work in community arts on public murals. I have 2 adult sons, one a nurse and the other a musician.

PHILOSOPHY

Truthfulness, kindness and integrity are values I hold dear. Not too keen on the deeply earnest, I truly appreciate irreverent humour. I take pleasure good deeds and random acts of kindness and hope they have a multiplier effect.

Interests

In my free time I like to sing and play folk music for dances and with friends. I am also interested in sustainable gardening, and want to grow at least some of my own food. I also love to write and am compiling a book called Random Recipes with little stories that accompany the recipes.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy good TV drama and am in mourning since the finish of BBC series "Call the Midwife". I love well researched books that evoke history and place, while sweetened with a little fictitious license. I call it time travel. As for music ... very eclectic taste from grand opera to frivolous music hall and making merry music in company feeds my soul.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Pella Jordan I was a volunteer worker on an archaeological dig. It was 3 weeks of intensive learning and the start of a challenging year of travel.

I would love to learn more about the craft of writing and e-publishing. I love writing.
I can share my skills of painting, drawing, mid range computer skills, singing and playing concertina.
