About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"Meet new people, try new things, and have fun"

ABOUT ME

I love to travel and meet new people from all over and I'm always up for trying a new sort of food or taste. Having coffee or a beer with a good friend is one of the simplest yet most fulfilling quotidian experiences for me. Honestly, I just love to learn and open my mind; I find new perspectives fascinating.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed on plenty of friends' couches over my life. With CS specifically I've only hosted others. They've all been great experiences and I'm looking forward to surfing someone else's couch someday hopefully soon...maybe yours!

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot and enjoy most of what I pick up. Some authors I've been enjoying lately (or that I always put at the top of my list): Paul Bowles, Michelle Tea, Ursula Le Guin, Dostoevsky, Graham Greene, Oakley Hall, Proust...oh I give up too many. You can get some ideas of what I've read/am reading on my Goodreads profile.

I enjoy movies a lot too, though I tend to avoid the blockbusters and big theaters too. I love checking out smaller efforts at The Red Vic, a movie house around the corner from me.

And music...it's so hard to narrow these things down. Some of my favorites include Leonard Cohen, Coltrane, Bill Laswell, John Zorn, Ani DiFranco I've been on a big DeVotchKa kick lately, but that's just a small sample. I listen to a lot of different styles and like going to out dancing or to hear live music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

just one? I went on a cross country (US) road trip from SF to NY and places in between in 17 days and 8,000 miles that included seeing 10 professional baseball games in 10 cities in 10 days.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can blow spit bubbles. I can teach you how to play Beer Pong.
