I am a college student in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin in the United States. For the past few years I have been travelling around, and after falling in love with Asia, I have decided to take some time off from school and explore it!

I love the idea of couchsurfing and, since I have no couch, I am rather a very vocal enthusiast supporting the project!

Interests

I adore people! Conversations over coffee or tea are fantastic! I study opera and read poetry obsessively while being a scientist at heart (majoring in Biochemistry, Chinese and a minor in Russian Literature) Ballroom dancing, star gazing, walking and drinking wine, smiling and dancing to silence are in my top ten as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am into a fantastic amount of odd music...anywhere from fiddle and washboard to opera with Cat Stevens, Old Crow Medicine Show and Lauryn Hill being just a few.

Books: Too many to list though of recent I have been interested in Philosophy (Husserl, Heidegger, Brentano, Scheler...) and a few of my favorites include: Writing Down the Bones, Lolita, Stone Butch Blues, Notes From the Underground, Siddhartha, The Colour out of Space, Pale Fire...

Movies: I adore horror movies though refuse to watch them alone...What Dreams May Come, August Rush, Boondock Saints, 300...
