About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discovering myself, others, and the world around me!

ABOUT ME

PLEASE NOTE: I NOW HAVE ROOMMATES AND AM UNABLE TO OFFER A PLACE TO SLEEP BUT AM ALWAYS UP FOR COFFEE AND A CHAT!

I'm a super chatty girl who grew up in small town Canada with four siblings, a mom, a dad and a dog. After graduating high school and heading off to university I lived in half a dozen different southern Ontario cities (I like change) before I settled on Toronto and I have been here for over 10 years now. I don't own a car, but I can get ANYWHERE in this city on transit and if I don't already know how to get there, I can figure it out in minutes. I have navigated every corner of our public transit system.

I love sports and play on a handful of teams in the summer (softball, soccer, etc.) but tend to become more of a homebody in the winter (it gets cold here!). I am slightly embarrassed by the lack of traveling I've done when I compare myself to other couch surfers, but I hope that changes over the next few years.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't eat yellow snow (typical advice from a Northerner)

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will sleep on couches in faraway cities/towns; people will sleep on my air mattress. Win-win! I also like the idea of being able to help people navigate Canada's largest city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's been nothing but fantastic thus far! I did quite a bit of hosting in my last apartment and I surfed in California during a trip with my brother and a couple solo surfing nights in Buffalo, NY.

Interests

Playing sports, riding my bike EVERYWHERE, hanging out with friends, traveling (what little bit I actually do!), going out for drinks (and discovering new favourite beers), board game parties, wasting time on facebook/the internet in general, ICE CREAM - I love ice cream (and most things containing sugar). I love discovering the latest, hilarious viral videos/memes on the internet and sharing the laughs with others.

Music, Movies & Books

I love comedy - books, movies, etc. My favourite movie is Dumb and Dumber. I love anything with Ryan Reynolds in it. And don't hold it against me, but I love the Twilight Series. For music, I like all sorts... not a huge country fan and definitely not into screamo/dark/hardcore rap music, though.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Seeing the northern lights - it's pretty incredible. I'm always amazed to see a sky full of stars as well. I really took it for granted growing up in the north where starry skies are a regular occurrence. Whitewater rafting in the Ottawa Valley was an amazing experience. Whale watching outside Vancouver and in Mexico holds a special place in my heart. Photos never do it justice!

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy meeting people who have traveled and can share their experiences with me! Of course, I won't discriminate against those who are in the same metaphorical boat as me. If you want to come to Toronto and don't know where to start, I will gladly help you plan your visit! I should've become a travel agent. Also, if you are a good storyteller... I like a good story. I don't have any special skills but like to think that I am full of random knowledge - you may just learn something from me. :)
