About Me

ABOUT ME

My closest friends would likely say that I'm a down-to-earth, deep, introspective person and a compassionate listener and friend. They might tell you that you I enjoy my own company, and that I'm a delight to have around when I come out to play. Kind, trustworthy, bright, funny, honest, creative, and unique are words they might use to describe me.

Interests

I love my job as a clinical faculty member in my hometown community--I get a chance to have meaningful conversations with a diverse student population about issues of meaning, purpose, and healing in their lives. In my time away from the office, I paint large scale compositions of trees and show my work at various places. I also sing lead and play aucoustic guitar in a new-time folk band, which is a lot of fun. I love quality food and good beer and wine, time with friends, nature, etc. Not much a of on for the TV and generally prefer experiencing life to witnessing others living it. Since finishing my PhD and leaving a long decade of life as a college student behind me, I'm finally feeling the joys of settling into my career and my 30s, and being able to egage and contribute in the ways I feel I'm most suited to.

Lately I've been getting into a regular schedule of strenuous yoga for exercise and stress relief, and reaping great benefits. I look forward to the potential to meet other interesting people, whether hostessing at my home or visiting yours.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most of my travelling has happened on an inward level of self-exploration to prepare for my career. I also describe my job as traveling through other people's inner landscapes as a tourist with an eye towards unrecognized beauty and wholeness. I have moments of awe all the time in my job as I connect with others and watch them experience re-connecting with themselves.
