About Me

*Wandering soul in a committed relationship with the ephemeral*

If I have messaged you recently, it is because I am embarking on a 3 month journey starting in Mexico & ending in Costa Rica -- please show me all the beautifully weird and awe inspiring experiences you know!

About me -- for a living I am a holistic healing practitioner (I prefer spiritual midwife or wholeness restoration facilitator) -- there is little I find more pleasure from than being a mirror for others to learn, grow, and teach. I am fascinated by ritual and indigenous traditions in particular as well as everything and anything esoteric. The rest of my time is spent dancing my booty off, attending/creating parties & events in NYC, reading, getting into nature/the woods, and of course, traveling when I can.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I am not inherently attracted to the beautiful or the typical, I love being out of my comfort zone and want to see and experience things that will shock or move or inspire me. The most powerful way for me to experience another place or culture is through those who call it their home.

Interests

dancing my heart out (seriously, let's go get down), creating (art, experiences, connections), nature (hiking, biking, kayaking, etc. -- I would really like to learn how to dive, climb, & surf!), ritual/indigenous cultures and traditions/esoterica/occult, cooking/baking, radical politics/feminism, and of course, meeting & connecting with new and awesome people!

Music, Movies & Books

Books are my fuel. Some favorite authors/poets:
Wislawa Szymborska, Robert Heinlein, Margaret Atwood, David Foster Wallace, Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Kurt Vonnegut, Tom Robbins, Aldous Huxley, Ingrid Jonker, James Joyce, Brenda Shaughnessy, Italo Calvino, Salman Rushdie, Herman Hesse, Isabel Allende, W. Somerset Maugham, D. H. Lawrence, Shinji Moon, Orson Scott Card, Franz Kafka, Leo Tolstoy, William S. Burroughs, Robert M. Pirsig, Ray Bradbury, Allen Ginsburg, Philip K. Dick, Jane Austen, H.P. Lovecraft, Kate Chopin, Vladimir Nabokov, Thomas Mann, George Orwell, Ken Kesey, John Irving, Jack Kerouac, the list goes on and on and on.

As far as music: global/tropical bass, trip hop, baile funk, chillwave, jazz, folk, punk, indie, glitch, dnb, electro, breaks, acoustic, blues, funk, etc.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Hanging out with redwood trees - they are MAGIC.

Teach, Learn, Share

Always learning - please teach me your language, your experience, your wisdom, how you create.

Teaching - my wisdom, how to listen to your body, how to connect better with others and have stronger relationships, hula hooping, massage/energy/breathing technique.

What I Can Share With Hosts

I do bodywork/massage & energy work and am ALWAYS happy to give you a session in exchange for a place to stay. Also, I'm a great cook and would love to feed you. Oh, and I hula hoop and would love to give you a lesson!
