I was raised on US soil by German parents who had a strong belief that traveling is a necessity rather than a luxury. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, a place that is known for its multiculturalism and great food (the two things having a high correlation). So, out of this background, I had a childhood that taught me how to love being in unfamiliar places and that taught how to interact with people different from me.

Other than that, probably the most important things about me are that I love chocolate ice cream, enjoy a slight breeze on the summer’s day, and am thoroughly neutral about long walks on the beach. Yes, I know. What an interesting person I am.

I had a flatmate who went to Morocco and used this site to find accommodation and absolutely loved it. It takes a lot to impress him, so I knew that this was legitimate.

Other than that, I love meeting new people, and I always want more friends to invite for dinner so that I have an excuse to cook fancy meals.

Algo increíble que he hecho

I went on a marching band trip to China with the mission of practicing with a Chinese counterpart band for an upcoming parade. They spoke no English, and needless to say, our Chinese was pretty poor. So, we had to communicate through music, facial expressions, and laughter. By the end, we were able to play basketball together, do musical run throughs together, and support one another after long practices. It was the first in depth intercultural exchange I've experienced, and it made my life richer and happier.

I can bake amazing chocolate cakes, cook a bunch, suggest good books, and make you feel good about your singing ability because I'm pretty horrible at not making ears bleed.
