Hello! Our names are Lisa and Sarah, we are from Vancouver BC.

Sarah: I'm a Kindergarten teacher in North Vancouver and I also substitute teach Grades 1-4. Along with my Bachelor of Education I also have a Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology and Agroecology I love forests and beaches so please point me towards great outdoor spaces, I also really enjoy reading and I love all animals (but especially cats). Playing with all the stray cats in Rome and Greece was pretty much heaven for me. Three years ago I spent a little over a month in the UK, meeting my family from Scotland and visiting friends in England and Ireland. Last summer my roommate Lisa and I backpacked across southern Europe and had so much fun meeting and chatting with travelers and locals through CS.

About me:
Hmmm... what to say! Well, I love hiking, traveling, languages and all things related to books and art - I paint, I draw and love taking photographs. My novel and movies interest tend to stray towards science fiction and contemporary fiction including authors such as Neil Gaiman, Haruki Murakami, Kazuo Ishiguro, Margret Atwood and William Gibson. In the future I'd like to go back to school for illustration but in the meantime I'd like to see more of the world, have a little bit of adventure and meet new people along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Lisa and I have been roommates for seven years and have finally decided to go on a trip through Spain, France, Italy and Greece this summer. We are both new to Couchsurfing but we signed up because we'd like to not only experience new places but also to connect and meet people with diverse perspectives and experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

As a kindergarten teacher I love reading childrens literature and picture books, I love all genres but lately have been reading a lot of contemporary fiction especially of the LGBTQ variety. Ive always been a big fan of fantasy and sci-fi. I love Harry Potter and Phillip Pullmans Dark Materials. I've also been reading a lot of work by First Nations authors recently.

Its way to difficult to narrow down movies and music, I am super easygoing and will try anything.
