About Me

Graduating with a B.S. in Systems Engineering May 2016, I am excited to explore the world outside of the classroom. My interests include hiking, dancing, cooking, and camping. I have lived in Seattle, Washington D.C., Dublin, and Auckland.

I enjoy getting to know new people and learning about their experiences. Eventually I plan to be a couch surfing host once I make it back home to Seattle, so keep an eye out for that. I love hosting people, growing up we almost always had someone staying with us and it always made life so exciting. I've learned how to write my name in Japanese, make braided bread from Switzerland, and speak a little German, all from people who have passed through our house.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Getting local's insights while traveling around. Currently with my German friend Nina, we have been in New Zealand together for 5 months. We will be in Australia and Bali together until February 13th. After that, I will be traveling on my own for the first time!

In college, I was on a dance team that incorporated South East Indian dance into our choreography. It was a fun diverse group of people and something different to try outside of classes.

I love cooking. Mostly, I just experiment without a recipe book based on what I have in my fridge. I like to imagine I'm on Chopped (best food show ever) whenever I have random ingredients. Otherwise, I love learning favorite recipes from others. Some of my favorite memories were spent with my Grandpa in the kitchen making fried chicken and gumbo.

I'm not good at hiking by any measure, but I always attempt it anyways. I recently did the Tongariro Crossing and the Pinnacles hikes in New Zealand. Both were absolutely beautiful and also exhausting. Seattle, where I'm from, is filled with hikers and many weekends were spent with my friends trekking throughout the Pacific Northwest of the States - absolutely beautiful if you haven't been yet, but I'm biased.
