I am the executive chef of two restaurants. I came into cooking because of a travel rich childhood - I grew up in south Jamaica, and have lived in India, Thailand, Dubai, France and have travelled throughout my life. That travel early in my life got me hooked on good food and the stories behind how and why that food came to be. I love eating, drinking, and being outdoors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on counch surfing to make friends and travel the world with people who know the places I'm traveling to. Most of my travel experience thus far, save for my childhood in Jamaica, has been as a foreigner in a foreign place. I want to see new places with the comfort and knowledge you only get by having someone in that place who you know. I also love hosting and want to meet people with similar love of travel who can open my eyes to new places or expand my knowledge on places I have already been.

Interests

My interests center around my career - cooking. I love exploring new food and playing with different cuisines. Having a love of food is a catalyst for all my other passions - travel, outdoor exploration, drinking, camping, kayaking, and general misbehavior.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am from Jamaica so - I love reggae. I also love indie rock and am shamefully addicted to modern pop and country. My favorite book is whatever I am reading at the time AND the little price. I do not have a favorite movie but if I did it would be something embarrassing like the Notebook, which is probably why I am unwilling to name one?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have driven the entire continental United States with my dog Quincy towing a 1-ton trailer that acted as a shell would to a turtle - it held every last one of our belongings and was our only home for 5 months.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences and my love of life with hosts. I'd also be willing to share a meal or a beverage. I'm a pretty good sharer by nature - younger siblings tend to be since everything we own is a hand me down and were always the smallest in the family....
