For me, the next five years or so will be mostly devoted to earning a PhD in HIV research, becoming a world-class grappler, and making a modest name for myself in aerial pole.
A little bogged down with school work at the moment... sorry guys. I should be back up for hosting people around mid January.
Life is too exciting to be apathetic or lethargic. Being "grown up" means learning to balance responsibility and maturity with the delights of trying new things and honing your passions to an ever sharper and sharper point.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have an small student apartment that I share with another student who is kinda iffy on having guests over. At this point I am more looking to meet people around the Atlanta area.
Surfed once while in Germany and also have participated in a meetup of CouchSurfers. It's been over a year since then but I am trying to get out of my lab and meet people.
Martial arts: As of a year ago I become hooked on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I just can't get enough time on the mats. Before that though I trained in more traditional martial arts, starting with taekwondo when I was a little kid. From there I moved on to dabble in Jeet Kune Do, Wing Tsun, Krav Maga, Shotokan Karate, and some Eskrima/Kali.
Also, I love Capoeira, but I am never sure if it draws more from martial art or dance....
... and speaking of dance: pole dance! Think Cirque Du Solei-- not strippers. During a study abroad in Ecuador I was searching for remedial salsa lessons, and I accidentally wandered into a pole class. It was love at first invert. I am extremely lucky to train under Heidi Coker-- one of the best pole athletes in the world.
