About Me

To enjoy the now

Made a huge choice about paid employment and how I work so that I spend as much time as possible with my 12 year old son, Sheylen.

My favourite past times include Sailing, Cycling, Walking, reading, cooking and enjoying good wine with the best company. Secondly keeping up with what is happening in the world.

When I not spending time with my son, enjoying my favourite pastimes or earning $s to pay the rent, I serve as a volunteer capacity to a couple of NGOs and committees. My favourite NGO works with slum dwellers in 33 countries around the world.

Listen with your eyes, heart and ears. "Sheylen, when he was 7 years old"

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I joined in July 2011, when I was planning my first solo travel trip to Argentina....basically to meet locals with similar interests.

It is fun meeting people outside my circle and comfort zone. Meeting and interacting with people from all over the world is a lovely experience for my son too.

For now, I am offering to host or meet CS members who are open to sharing experiences (professional & personal) and spending a little time with my son chatting about your country, engaging him on his terms or teaching Sheylen a new tune on the piano or saxophone.

Sailing, Cycling, Walking, reading, cooking and enjoying good wine with the best company.

My son's favourite interests includes soccer, reading, playing the piano/saxophone, movies (lots of movies). Sheylen loves chatting about famous soccer players from different countries. He also loves to practice his Finnish language.

** He supports Arsenal and Barcelona Football Clubs..me I support whoever they are playing against :-)

Finally, I am hoping to learn to cook food from different countries. So, if you are willing to share cooking secrets or recipes, that would be fun.

Music, Movies & Books

You can check out our book shelves and listen to the music on the iPod :-).

One Amazing Thing I've Done

My most amazing 'thing' is being an 'active & present' father to my son, Sheylen, who is now 12 years old.

Teach, Learn, Share

For the mind: -Have a keen interest in economics and politics. -Listening to my son sharing his views on the world around him :-). -Live music, especially the piano and wind instruments.

For the body: Walking, sailing, and cycling.

For the stomach: Love to cooking/experimenting with different tastes and good wine

So if you are coming to stay with us....we offer to share and look forward to listening and learning from you.
