My name is Simon but my friends call me Sy. I'm 33 and I'm from Chile. I´m a quiet guy, I like surfing and diving, the good food, music and meet beatiful places, towns and cities.
I am an architect and scuba dive master, I was working on a architecture studio on Santiago for 6 years. I was feeling really bored and really tired about my job and I quit, before that I worked hard to save money to do a long and interesting travel. I was living in New Zealand for one year working on different kind of jobs with the working holidays visa. When this visa expired I traveled to Asia. I went in Thailand Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, India and I´m in Turkey at the moment. My plan on Europe is make a trip around east and central Europe and I gonna start in Bulgaria.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I reckon the most important thing when I'm traveling is meet the real culture of the places. To know this real point meet local people is the most important and interesting. I love discover everything by my own but I learned in this trip that meeting people give me info and special knowledge about things that is impossible to find in internet or in any books.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like every kind of music but my favourite is jazz and folk music (local music, everywhere) and the experimental music as well. Rock, classical.
My movies. I like some directors as: Kubrick, Lynch, Nolan, Scorsese, Almodovar, etc. I like the movies when the photography, art, and screenplay works together as an art work.
I like the police books, this kind of books with many surprises along the way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I´m a Scuba Dive Master, so I had the chance to work and travel as a diver in many places around the world. Under the water I saw the most amazing things that I can to imagine. One of that was diving with whales in "Isla Dama" (Lady island), in the north of Chile. Unforgettable.
