To Change the World :)
I am a Washington state Coordinator of The Zeitgeist Movement, and I dedicate the bulk of my time towards creating the fluid social change required to build a sustainable, holistically positive world.
Im 26, and was raised in the woods, where I gained my understanding of reality and the harmony of the world. In contrast, I find mankind tends to live in a gross approximation of natural law, ignoring it as often as they can in the seeking of comfort and tradition, much to their expense.
Im seemingly dualistic in my philosophies. On the one hand I am very practical, especially when it comes to social systems and structures- do they WORK?
On the other, I have a great appetite for the esoteric and matters of perceptual experience. I meditate regularly, and practice the martial arts assiduously.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am centered in Seattle WA, West Seattle to be exact, and am willing to host people passing through the area. I have one full size couch, one half size, and floor space if you'd prefer (growing up in the woods, I often like to be a bit closer to the earth than modern convention calls for).
I can host up to two people at a time, for two to three days max.
Further, being a state Coordinator for the largest grassroots social movement in the world, if you are a cool person, I can likely help you find a couch even where CS cannot :)
I am new to CS, outside of personal friends while I've surfed myself.
I love interesting discussion and unique perspectives. I can debate anything from theology to physics with some measure of aplomb, but have never portray to know more than I do. In fact, I love encountering someone who has knowledge of something I don't, because after talking, I just learned something! This includes being proven wrong, on any subject. It's all about growth.
Im huge on the outdoors. Having grown up in the woods, the city is a bit of a challenge for me.
Being a member of The Zeitgeist Movement, I stand by the courage of my convictions, and while I work everyday for a better world, I am not dogmatic about anything, and preconceptions always fall by the wayside.
Want to talk about world issues in a solution-oriented context, (a perspective much lacking in our world today)? Im your guy.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read voraciously. Philosophy (Lao Tzu, Rousseau), Sci-fi (SW, Erikson), fantasy (Pratchett, Gaiman), Historical Fiction (Clavell), Horror (Koontz) ect.
Little taste for mysteries and drama tho.
Chomsky and Zinn ftw
I have a fetish for post-apocolyptic stories.
Music- Tool, Pink Floyd, classic rock, dubstep, techno, ect. I dislike country and most rap (unless it actually has a message- Flobots/Blue Scholars)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A friend and I trekked into the Blue Mountains, an offshoot of the Rockies, where wolves had recently been re-introduced. We tracked a pack for two days. On the second night, we were settled on the edge of a clearing, nursing our banked fire and settling in for bed, when we heard what we had been wishing for our entire lives- the crystal clear night lit up with the howls of the wolves. Not one pack, but two, on either side of us. It was the most amazing serenade I have ever heard in my life. (very short synopsis obviously)
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a good deal about-
