I grew up in a small state in New England, US, and have been moved from town to town, school to school, but never very far. While I never fell in love with any of my home towns, what I did fall in love with was the experience of arriving someplace different, and meeting new and extraordinary people at every turn. I'm fascinated by the way people think, why they do the things they do, and why they go to the places they go. I also have a strong interest in film, and hope to correlate these interests in some way, shape, or form as I travel. Something else about me is that I also love to party and go dancing, and I am a recently converted surfing beach bum (a beginner).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing because I'm an ambitious high school graduate who wants to find myself in unique places around the world in order to meet unique people. I'm also very poor. Couchsurfing will allow me to venture off to the places I've always dreamed of going while I'm still young, curious, and broke. I can't wait to meet all kinds of interesting people from around the world and learn about them and about myself along the way. I'm young, but I've seen enough to know that my youth will not last. I never felt I learned much in school from textbooks and assignments; it was when I got into a conversation with my teacher, or when I asked the unasked questions, that I really learned anything. I truly believe that people and their experiences can teach you a lot more than anything else, and in my travels I want to exploit that by meeting as many interesting people as I can.

Interests

I want to learn how to do amazing things; not to amaze other people, but to amaze myself. I want to push myself to every limit imaginable, and find myself in incredible situations I couldn't have dreamed up. I love to write. In fact, I love anything to do with absolute expression inhering reckless abandon. Raw photography and unexpected film and impromptu art and writ seem to me to be a way of life, and the only way to find oneself in a world of great assumptions and terrible expectation.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't have much "worldly" experience under my belt to share with hosts, but what I can share is my strong sense of wonder and love for adrenaline-rushing risk-taking. I'm also a wicked cook. I'm the type of person who will return a favor, and then some. Hosts that open up their homes and their hearts to struggling travelers and dreamers are the greatest kind of people, and I'm hoping to experience a connection with great people like that, and offer to them in return the most I possibly can.
