Floridian, gone Dutch! I'm just a curious Business student who loves to learn about different cultures. After living in the U.S. for 17 years, I decided to spend a year abroad in Germany. That year sent me on a quest to learn more about the world, which is why I'm studying in one of the most international cities in Europe! I'm quite open to different cultures and am keen to learn about the hidden gems that make most people proud of where they are from. If you like to play musical instruments, hike and talk for hours, then I'm sure we would become great friends :D

I'd like to meet locals in the countries I visit to learn more about a country or area from a personal perspective, but it's more important that I find people I could make a lasting connection with. It is becoming a life goal to make friends in every country I visit - as I'd love for people to visit my hometown as well and gain a wider understanding of my culture as well. This, I believe, is how we can help push past the boundaries of what we see in the media, and see true human connections.

I'd really like to learn other languages - but the way they are spoken in conversation rather than how it is taught in school. I could help others with English, but I'd rather help people understand American culture, and how it is not the same throughout the whole country. I'd love to share and have others share their memories of traveling abroad to see each other's perspective on the outside world.

I'd love to cook for my hosts, as one of my favorite ways to share culture is through food! I can also show them many photos and videos of what my experiences growing up were, as growing up is one of the more interesting topics of how people perceive their communities.
