45 years old; grew up around Pittsburgh and moved to Arizona for graduate school in Creative Writing; married for 18 years to a fantastic woman who keeps me sane and moving forward; father to a 12-year-old son and a 3-year-old daughter; committed to finding creative ways to stay healthy and happy, and enjoy being in the moment.

Interests

I work in technology, so I always seem to be surrounded by the latest gadgets, but I try to seek balance off the grid--with family & friends, good local food, and new places to visit.

Music, Movies, and Books

always on the prowl for new/interesting music, but what you'll usually find in my library is Roots/Americana Rock, Singer-Songwriter, Independent, Jazz & Jam Bands. obsessive collector of all things Zappa, live Phish & Dead, and Ryan Adams boots.

don't get to see many films these days, but when I do, I like Scorsese, Kubrick, Lynch, Malick, Coen Bros, the Andersons (Wes or PT), independent film...anybody who can tell a good story in an interesting way.

ditto for books: will sample anything as long as it's good writing. mostly try to read literary fiction, but cut my teeth with genre fiction (Horror, Sci-Fi) in the 70-80's. also like nonfiction (biographies, memoirs, or food writing). usually have 4-5 books going at once.
