I'm a 26-year-old Chicagoin. I would describe myself as an introspective on the friendly side. That means I love solitary things like reading and writing, but I'm also a big fan of people and hanging out.

Interests

I like to think of myself as an observant person. I think I get most of my enjoyment from life from unexpected moments, sites, events... I love cooking, reading, writing, journalism, music and learning new things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There's one quote from my undergraduate work as a journalism student that stayed with me. I spoke to an owner of a nail salon in Iowa City; he had escaped from Vietnam with his father when he was young. He said his grandfather fought on the American side of the war and was hit by shrapnel.

The doctors told his grandfather: "There is nothing we can do about them (shrapnel); they are like stars in the sky."
