I generally don't like talking about myself, but I'll try to portray an accurate representation.
As for my personality: I'm generally an easy-going person, there is very little in this world that really upsets me. Although, I will definitely act like things upset me for effect: I'm a pretty sarcastic guy. Sometimes, that sarcasm can turn to cynicism, especially when the topic relates to mortality and philosophy, although I generally try to keep a positive outlook.
I believe that the most important qualities to possess are honesty and an open mind. I'm not overly rigid on lying, but I generally feel pretty guilty after I've told one. As for an open mind, I always attempt to analyze the viewpoint of those around me in an attempt to understand their motivations. This empathy is definitely a driving force behind my emotions: a lot of how I feel comes from those around me.
Oh, probably as good a time as any to mention that I'm pretty analytical. Part of my career involves a lot of critical thinking and analysis, so I tend to do it frequently, even unintentionally.
I think that's about all the self-description I can muster. If you want to know more you'll just have to ask!
I am first and foremost a video game designer. My passion for game design leads me to a large variety of fields, including travel.
A simple explanation: the field of design has been described as "the art of creating experiences" (of course, as described by designers). As such, if I am to create an experience for a player that is wholly theirs, and exciting and meaningful in just the way I want it to be, I must be knowledgeable in experiences. This is why I attempt to experience everything I can, including psychology, anthropology, architecture, etc.
What this really means? I'm just a really nerdy guy that's interested in pretty much anything.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Going to Las Vegas for the first time and having the desire to never sleep. I've always been a late-night (even overnight) type of person, but Las Vegas is truly awake all hours of the day. I very acutely remember the feeling I had at 4AM on a Las Vegas night when I realized my night was just starting.
Seeing Denali in person. It was a really cloudy day when I drove up to Denali National Park, so I was unable to see the mountain on my approach. However, after making it into the park itself, the majority of the fog had cleared away and I was able to see the base of the mountain. I still wasn't able to see the peak due to cloud cover, but it was already overwhelming in size.
