Frankly my main quality is being a humanitarian. I love to have fun and I definitely do, I love others to have fun and they definitely do, but ultimately my goal is a little more peace, a little more love on earth thanks to my (however small) influencer. Which is why I love the life I now have - I think I am doing what I need, and learning how to do it better every day.
If you don't believe every thing you do has an impact on the wider community and wider world, then you need to back yourself more. You DO matter. And so do I. Viva la vida!
After graduating I tried teaching and it didn't work out. So I went for a small trip to Europe, which ended up as an 18 month trip through Europe, North, Central & South America. With the help of couchsurfers and other amazing travellers, I learned so much and decided to come home After a year in London I chose to move to Bristol and finally feel at home. Next trip? 2015 or '16.
Anymore would just be narcissistic so send me a message and tell me about you. What's our common ground?
"Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world ... I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst.
And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain. And I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surfed semi-regularly when travelling. After a sofa-less year in London I am in Bristol. Can I Host? Not quite yet but watch this space.
I've surfed close to 50 couches across the world and can't wait to host in the future, and I've met tons and tons from CS meetings, activities, etc.
All I have met are surely welcome when I open my own door, wherever and whenever it might turn out to be!
In no particular order:
Team sport, esp. rugby ("team" is the operative word here, I love the community)
Languages. I started learning a few.
Water. As in bodies of water.
Actually anything cosy.
Absinthe (not a joke)
People sharing their favourite things with me, like a film or a piece of music.
Immersion in a place: that's a long term process.
Off-the-wall tourist ideas.
Honest conversation & honest debate.
Honest people. Even if they're honestly unbearable.
Anything new and not clearly dangerous.
