About Me

share my own little world with people; visit real world occasionally. Explore

I have a lot of quirky interests but I think they culminate into good conversation. I'm queer. I'm a nerd but not in the video game way. I like to read, write, bike, cook, run and explore. Most of all I like talking to people from around the world, or from the neighborhood, about life, philosophy, art, experience and the connections among things. I'm very relaxed and disarming. I don't take myself too seriously, but beware I have a dry sense of humor that is occasionally dirty. And I know how to have lots of fun if you're up for it.

Two Words: Only Connect.
I also believe it's important to make an effort to understand other people and I believe to have a positive outlook on life and get other people to go do fun things. Dancing and conversation are good for the soul.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Suddenly I don´t feel so new to couch surfing and instead feel entirely invigorated by it. I´ve been fortunate to meet incredible people through here and in many instances i have instantly felt very open and trusting. In fact I would say that has been the norm.
I would like to participate in basic and more advanced ways; First I think it´s important to be a good house guest and always respectful and tidy in the space of whoever is hosting. But beyond that I feel like there is something really valuable about offering my life experiences and tales of travel in exchange for other´s viewpoints and stories. I think this process helps us all become better people and when we are thousands of miles from home to feel at home with another person is an amazing experience.

Through couchsurfing I've had the most inspiring interactions with people from all walks of life. It's shown me so much about the world, other people and inevitably, myself.

I'm really into art, music, and especially poetry and philosophy. I'm also into the nerdy aspects of computer graphics, video, and production work. I love reading and exchanging books or thoughts on books with people. I love to cook, run, and I really like making genuinely good coffee.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: anything choroegraphed by busby berkeley and plenty others. Music: so many kinds, I'm obsessive and love to exchange music with people. Classical is ok, but also into lots of new stuff. Books: nonfiction or fiction. Walt Whitman, Pablo Neruda, Philip Whalen, JD Salinger, Milan Kundera, & whatever you recommend.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was on the side of a volcano in Mexico when it erupted. I was at a safe distance, albeit a high altitude. The eruption itself was spectacular, but what made all the hair on my body rise was the fact that it happened seconds after one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen, and the smoke billowing toward the sky was colored deep pink, then a minute later crimson red, then finally a deep blood-like purple.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know about photography, food and video, I'm happy to share. They are personal passions before they are professions.
