Understanding my mission in this life

ABOUT ME

I have more time now to travel and learn. My kids are almost independent. I am a widow, and I no longer take care of Mom. I take good care of my health so I will be able to do it for a long time.
I have been learning Taoist Tai Chi for several months, and it feels great! My occupations have been journalism, broadcasting, law and advocacy. I love to learn and teach new skills and subjects with intelligent, creative and visionary people. I enjoy practicing and learning languages. Turnoffs: narrow minds, especially in politics and religion, selfishness, chauvinism and xenophobia. I listen to a lot of National Public Radio wherever I am, even on the go with small radio because the content is so interesting and enjoyable.

PHILOSOPHY

The world needs more compassion and empathy. I am trying to contribute my share. I want to spend as much time and energy I can learning, helping, enjoying good theater, good music and always good food, and capturing opportunities for spontaneous fun.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Witnessing the birth of a child is an experience of hope. Witnessing the death of a person brings humility. A sunrise or sunset over water, especially with many colors in the sky, always excites me. Climbing, even seeing, mountains amazes me because I don't live among them. A rare glimpse of the Milky Way from a rare, dark spot brings awe.
